Job Title: Marine Joint Terminal Attack Controller / Joint Fires Observer Instructors
Location: Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Duties: JFO Instructors will prepare lesson plans for each period of instruction, provide technical support in the research, development and sustainment of course curricula, and provide technical subject matter expertise for observed fire procedures during the JFO Course. The instructors will monitor and evaluate students on Joint Fire Observer (JFO) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Instructors will ensure that Programs of Instruction (POI) and lesson plans are relevant and current with operational needs and recommend input. Instructor will also operate the Call For Fire Trainer, Virtual Battle Space Simulator (VBSS), Multiple-purpose Supporting Arms Trainer, and the Deployable Virtual Training Equipment-Combined Arms Network System.
Required:
- US Citizen
- SECRET clearance
- Graduate of the Curriculum Developers Course or equivalent within the last five (5) years (preferred)
- Graduate of a Formal School House Instructor Course
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable systems including Marine Corps Systems Approach to Training, Microsoft Office Suite, Marine On Line and The Marine Corps Training Information Management System
- Joint Fire Observer Instructor:
- One year of operational experience in a fire support billet and complete JFO certification within 60 days of award
- Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) /Forward Air Controller Instructors (FAC/FAC-A):
- One year operational experience as a JTAC, FAC or FAC(A) and complete the JFO COI within 60 days of award,
- Joint Fire Observer Instructor:
- Must maintain JTAC currency IAW with the JTAC MOA and TACP T&R Manual
