Job Title:  United States Army Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) Level C Instructor

Location:  Fort Rucker, Alabama

Duties:  SERE Instructor will instruct and evaluate students on Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).  The SERE Instructor will ensure each student with high risk of capture gains the ability to effectively employ the SERE tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) necessary to survive and  return with honor regardless of the circumstances of separation, isolation or capture.  SERE Instructors will evaluate students’ duty performance and certify their competence of the skills instructed within the course in accordance with Government furnished Programs of Instruction (POI), Course Management Plans (CMP), instructor courseware and all applicable regulations.  Courses will typically be conducted at Fort Rucker, Alabama and the TAC-X (a remote military training site near Samson, Alabama)

  • Program Manager/Instructor
    • Shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of documented and verifiable successful Program Management experience of comparable size and scope of the requirement. Experience can be military, civilian, contractor, or a combination of the three (3). Preferred(In addition to minimum qualifications): Teaching and management experience in a DoD SERE-related program.
  • Deputy Program Manager/Instructor
    • Shall have a minimum of seven (7) years of documented and verifiable successful management experience in a DoD SERE-related program.  Preferred(In addition to minimum qualifications): Teaching experience in a DoD SERE-related program; management experience specific to the U.S. Army SERE School.
  • Quality Control Manager/Instructor
    • The Quality Control Manager shall have a minimum of three (3) years of documented and verifiable successful experience managing a Quality Control/Quality Assurance Program. Preferred(In addition to minimum qualifications): Teaching and management experience in a DoD SERE-related program.
  • Training Manager/Instructor
    • Shall have a minimum of three (3) years of documented and verifiable successful experience managing a standardization, training or instructor training program, as well as a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Instructor Trainer/Evaluator (or equivalent) in a SERE Level C program.
  • Safety Coordinator/Instructor
    • Shall have a minimum of three (3) years of documented and verifiable successful experience managing a safety program of comparable size and scope.  Preferred(In addition to minimum qualifications):  Safety experience relative to SERE training.
  • Mission Support Manager
    • Shall be responsible for coordinating and supervising the following requirements:  Administration, Registrar, Security, Logistics, IT, A/V Support, Facilities, and Transportation.  Shall have a minimum of seven (7) years of documented and verifiably successful experience managing logistical and/or administrative activities of a similar size and scope.
  • Section Manager (2)
    • Shall provide Contractor employee supervision and administration.  Shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity of similar size and scope.
  • Lead Instructors (4)
    • Shall provide supervision for the section, and shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a fully qualified instructor, with two (2) years experience in the associated discipline. Preferred(In addition to minimum qualifications):  Full certification as an evaluator in the associated discipline, in accordance with U.S. Army standards.
  • Instructors
    • Provide academic instruction, small group hands-on field training, practical application laboratory instruction, and operational performance exercise phases of training.

Required:

  • US Citizen
  • SECRET clearance
  • Graduate of an approved DoD SERE Level “C” High Risk Course; training certificate required
  • Graduate of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC), an approved DoD Instructor Training Course (ITC), or other equivalent course (e.g. attended a TRADOC or Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) approved course) prior to instructing students
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Must pass a Human Factor Psychological Test
