Job Title:  United States Army Special Operations Command SERE Instructor 

Location:  Fort Bragg, North Carolina

US Citizen; Secret clearance; SERE C grad; 4 yrs honorable mil svc; former E-5 or higher

5 yrs documented & verifiable successful exp as SERE C QC/TM 4 yrs exp as SERE instructor in any SERE discipline w/at least 2 yrs in last 6 yrs at SWC SERE RTL or RAD Bachelor in Business + 7 yrs Pgm Mgt exp similar in size & scope (exp: contractor, civ, or mil); + 4 yrs SERE C instructor. 10 yrs relevant documented mgt exp, with references, substitute for Bachelors

Associates in Business +5yrs documented & verifiable successful exp in SERE C Mgt; or 7yrs relevant documented mgt exp w/ ref may substitute for Associates

SERE Instructor will instruct and evaluate students on Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). The SERE Instructor will ensure each student gains the ability to effectively employ the SERE tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) necessary to return with honor regardless of the circumstances of separation, isolation or capture. Students are comprised of those individuals who are at high risk of capture, including, but not limited to, Special Forces, Rangers, pilots and air crew members. SERE Instructors will evaluate student duty performance and certify their competence of the skills instructed within the course in accordance with Government furnished Programs of Instruction (POI), Course Management Plans (CMP), instructor courseware and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Regulation 350-70. Courses will typically be conducted at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center (USAFJKSWCS) located on Camp Mackall at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Required:

  • US Citizen
  • SECRET clearance
  • Minimum of a secondary education 
  • Prior rank of E-5 or higher
  • Minimum of 4 years of honorable service in the US Military 
  • Graduate of an approved DoD SERE Level “C” High Risk Course; training certificate required
  • (Preferred Qualification) Graduate of the Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC), an approved DoD Instructor Training Course (ITC), or other equivalent course (e.g. attended a TRADOC or Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) approved course) prior to instructing students
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • DD214 w/redacted SSN; if DD214 has the SERE Level C annotated, will be accepted in place of the SERE Level C training certificate
