Job Title Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) and Evasion and Conduct After Capture (ECAC) Instructors

LocationsFairchild Air Force Base, Washington / Lackland Air Force Base, Texas

Duties:  Instructors will be responsible for:  executing SERE instruction in classroom, field and simulated environments; evaluating students’ duty performance and certify their competence; and evaluating  SERE and Code of Conduct curricula, programs, and training by using evaluation methods and performing analysis of training effectiveness to ensure it is current and incorporates latest Doctrine Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs). Some travel required

Required:

  • US Citizen
  • SECRET clearance
  • Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington / USAF Basic SERE Course, S-V80-A
    • Two (2) Categories of Personnel:
      • Graduates of the USAF SERE Specialist Course, S-V81-A, with at least two (2) years instructing in a SERE Level C course comprise at least 50% of the personnel
      • Graduates of SERE Level C Course and at least two (2) years instructing in a SERE Level C course comprise the remainder of the personnel
  • Lackland Air Force Base, Texas / ECAC Course
    • Three (3) Categories of Personnel:
      • Graduates of the USAF SERE Specialist Course, S-V81-A, at least two (2) years instructing in a SERE Level C course comprise at least 25% of the personnel
      • Graduates of SERE Level C Course and at least two (2) years instructing in a SERE Level C course comprise an additional 50% of the personnel (for a combined total of at least 75%)
      • Graduates of at Least a SERE Level B Course, preferably two (2) years instructing in a SERE Level B or C Course comprise no more than 25% of the personnel
  • Possess and maintain physical, mental and emotional fitness & conditioning necessary to deliver this training
  • Possess high personal standards, technical knowledge & professional competence in delivering training material
  • Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U.S. Air Force, military rank/grade structure; knowledge of Air Force and military terminology
  • Possess a knowledge of basic and advanced training techniques, and of computer technology applications as they apply to instructional delivery
  • Knowledge of DoD procedures for the handling of classified material, DoD SERE and Personnel Recovery publications supporting Code of Conduct training, and the capability to access those publications
